This concert is sure to make your metal heart beat faster. Accept is one of the greats of European metal, a band not only “too mean to die” (as the title of their latest, 2021 record indicates), but for some years now enjoying a renaissance, with their recent material matching their cult classics stride for stride. Led by Wolf Hoffmann, the band is also stellar when it comes to live performance – something you perfectly know by now, seeing how whenever they play at the festival, there’s hardly room to breathe in the club. Rest assured, this time around there will be plenty of space in front of the stage.
History:
To call them the pioneers and legends of the European heavy metal barely scratches the surface. The band’s origins go way back to the late 1960s when Udo Dirkschneider and Michael Wagener started the band Banx X, to then in 1976 renamed it as Accept. True icons of heavy metal, with many hits under their belt (just to name a few, “Metal Heart”, “Lady Lou” or “I’m a Rebel”), who have performed hundreds of fantastic concerts all around the globe. Accept’s cult records are a true goldmine of hit-making riffs and a constant inspiration for new generations of metalheads. The period from 2009 onwards is considered a new chapter in the band’s history – the band reformed then with a new vocalist, Mark Tornillo, who’s been growling under the banner of Accept ever since. The veterans, though they’re no spring chickens, with their verve and magnetic stage presence, can still leave many youngsters flustered.
