For a while now VHS Hell have been organizing screenings of amazing budget movies from genres back in a day you would normally find at the lowest shelves of video cassette rentals. These were movies so awfully bad that they became delightfully good.
Don’t Panic, dir. Rubén Galindo Jr., 1987, 90 min.
For his 17th birthday, Michael receives an Ouija board from his best friend Tony. The natural consequence of such a gift is, of course, a spiritualistic séance – after all, what could go wrong? It turns out a lot. Michael unknowingly unlocks the evil forces of the board and summons a demon known as Virgil. One does not have to wait long for the consequences, soon there is a wave of brutal killings, and the main suspect seems to be the ill-fated birthday boy. Is Michael the killer? Will he be able to prove his innocence and defeat the demon?
