Kerry King

If you miss Slayer, then Kerry King’s concert will be the best opportunity to experience it all again live. The lead guitarist of one of the most important groups in the history of metal has already announced his solo album, releasing a single so strong one cannot resist headbanging – a thrash attack that doesn’t play around. And then there’s his band… Mark Osegueda on the mic, and Paul Bostaph on the drums, among other solid names. We endorse not missing it.

History:

Kerry King loves music, and more specifically – loves metal and he loves it deeply. For when Slayer was running its victory lap, he said over and over again, like a broken record, that he isn’t done with playing and that he’s not even thinking about retiring. As it turned out, we had to wait a little for King’s return, but once he finally did, hardly anyone was complaining. The first single out of the gun barrel was “Idle Hands” and it almost immediately graced the front pages of almost all metal media. Pumping up the excitement, the announcement of the band’s lineup only sharpened the appetite for more of where that came from. What’s more, King decided to lay all of his cards on the table and in addition to releasing the inaugural single to the world, he announced the premier of his debut album, “From Hell I Rise”, which will be released on May 17th, 2024, through Reigning Phoenix Music. That means, of course, that by the time Kerry takes the stage at Mystic Festival, the album will already have been out in the world, and it would be wise to explore just how well these songs would fare live.
