What music does My Diligence make? The band members claim they are better off being labelled as psychedelic post-metal and they are not wrong. They often employ tremolo melodies and walls of shoegaze noise in contrast with the heavy riffs, and this fairytalelike atmosphere is regularly breached by the stoner, desert rock crunch. They are both powerful and meditative.
History:
My Diligence began their career in 2012 in Brussels, but before they became one of the most interesting metal-adjacent names from Belgium, they took their time to fully break in and build their own style. That’s why their first EP took two years to make, and riding the wave, they punched the scene with their debut self-titled album a year later. Both of those releases ensured that the band would gain fans in the post-metal scene, and, thanks to their psychedelic tendencies and slides into desert rock, also among those keen on stoner. The constantly altered and corrected aesthetic course of the trio, a mixture of all the genres and subgenres mentioned above, became better and better with each release, which stabilised the band’s international status. They play a lot; they tour a lot and they are not stopping anytime soon. Their newest album is the 2022 “The Matter, Form and Power”.
