Slope

In the 90s, metal was colourful, frivolous, and ready to fuse with other genres – for the betterment of both metal and other genres. The German Slope serves their own form of what Suicidal Tendencies, Living Colour or Faith No More were doing over thirty years ago, that is mixing, adding a cheerful melody to metal (do not confuse with just joking around) and they groove like crazy. When it comes to their genre, it’s a combination of funk, alt-metal and hardcore, so everything is sweet and scrumptious, especially on the stage.

History:

Maybe Slope’s discography is not extremely impressive, but the band has been around since 2012. That’s when five friends came together in Berlin to play metal the way it was done in the 90s – no insecurities, no division into genres and no tension. Thinking about their inspirations, such as Living Colour or Faith No More, the group started recording in 2014, releasing their first EP into the world. The successor came three years later. Taking their time allowed the band to work out their own style, which turned out to be a great solution when their fully fledged debut album, “Street Heat”, saw the light of day. The material was well-received and beloved by metalheads and punks alike. Ever since, Slope’s recognisability has been growing, which is proved by their sophomore album, “Freak Dreams”.
